Actually, EL is not as cool and exciting as AA, but I'm going to be the Assistant Director for the EL Canvass office this summer. So this is a promotion and I'm really excited about it. My niece Mia Katherine Hanley was born on Feb. 22nd at 8:06 am. She is seriously the cutest baby ever!

I was lucky enough to be able to take 3 days off of work to spend time with my family and help Jenny and BJ out. I'm so excited about being an aunt and spoiling Mia!

Secondly, I am taking the Assistant Director position this fall for the AA office. This summer will be really crazy for me because I will be busy training new staff and running crews, but I will also be taking over some Director responsibilities. In August I will have to go to Boston for training. I will also be going to Chicago a few times a year for meetings. I'm excited about all the new opportunities but my life is certainly still up in the air.

Those are basically the highlights of my life so far. I'm still busy with work and hanging out with my friends and catching up on sleep. I'm looking forward to my birthday and St. Patricks Day weekend because I will be celebrating in Chicago!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Oh christ....

What a weekend....

Just got back from BG. I ended up cutting about 3 inches off. I was ready for something different. I went to this uber trendy place in downtown that I walk by everytime I go to work. It wasn't expensive and I love my new hair cut. Here's a pic:

I don't have a pic of what the back looks like because I'm not that talented. But it's short and layered.

On Sunday Katie and I saw The Departed. Holy shit!! It was really good just lots of blood. But a definite must see.

I had my letter to the editor published in the Ann Arbor News yesterday! Here's the link to the article: Oil-use changes should fight global warming

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Life Update

Work, work, work...I'm working alot but it's going great as always. I'm getting alot more responsibility which is what I wanted. Our office added 5 more canvassers in 1 week which is awesome. I've been helping to train some of the new people to be field managers for this summer. Summer will be huge because we'll have tons of people in the office. Also, we wrote letters to the editor after the State of the Union address and I got a call from the AA News saying that mine is going to be published. I'm super excited about that! In other job related news, I was offered an Assistant Director position this fall for the Ann Arbor office. So if I don't get accepted to U of M I'm going to take the position. However, if I do get accepted to U of M, it'll depend on if I get funding to go to school. Either way, I'll be in AA for another year which I'm happy about; and I have a back up plan if grad school doesn't work out. I'm excited that my life is starting to have some direction and I have a sorta plan for the next 2 years.

Jenny is doing fine, the baby's head is down but she's not anywhere close to labor. I've been working on Saturdays so I can take time off when she does have the baby. I can't wait!

Yesterday was pretty low key. I worked during the day, grabbed dinner with Pat at ABC, and then went over to Jessie's to hang out. We watched Employee of the Month and piged out on chips and ice cream.

Today will probably be a lazy day. I'm going to the movies with Katie later, but I'm not sure what we'll see. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Bop Bop Do Do

Ok, so life has been pretty crazy lately. I've been really busy at work now that we're working with the Sierra Club. We are doing a lot more campaign work for them; things like letters to the editor, press conferences, letters to Congress, and town openings. So I've been working on those things as well as canvassing every night. I'm doing better with this campaign than HRC. I usually average around $250 a night which is pretty awesome. It's been interesting canvassing in the snow. It now finally feels like winter and people are always surprised to see someone knocking on their door in 10 degree weather.

The party my roommates and I had went really well. I had a good time and drank waaaayyy too much. These are my roommates: (Erin, me, Stacy, and Josh)

Those are some of my co-workers: me, Lauren, Katie (1 of 2 Assistant Directors), Pat (my boss), and Jessie. We spend alot of time together. Last night Katie and I made dinner for everyone and then went out to the bars. Needless to say, it was a good night. The people at work are pretty much like a family to me.

Well today I'm gonna do some laundry, watch TV, work on grad school stuff, maybe go to the Y, and have dinner with my Dopple and Michael. I can't wait to see them!

Quick Update

So things have been going pretty well here in AA. The weather is finally starting to feel like winter. We have started working for the Sierra Club on their Global Warming campaign. I'm going to being helping one of our Assistant Director's Kira on campaign strategies like writing letters to the editor, press conferences, etc.

I went home this past weekend for my Uncle Kevin's wedding. Here is a pic of my uncle and my new aunt Lilly:

It was a really pretty wedding, and it was good to see the family, but it was a bit weird at the same time because I'm still close with my aunt Teresa. She'll always be my aunt no matter what.

Went bowling last night with Pat, Steve, and Katie from work. I'm so horrible, but I did manage to get a spare with my amazing "granny shot" ability. This Saturday my roommates and I are having a party. I don't think many of my BG friends will be able to come up though. But it should be a good time none the less.

Well I hope everyone is having a great week!!

"Best Years of Your Life"

Any other 20-somethings heard that before?

I find it interesting that these are supposed to be the best years of our life when in fact these may be the most stressful and terrifying years of our lives.

Enough said....

So This Is The New Year...

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Pat, me, and Steve at Leopold Brothers

I had a good night in Ann Abor. I had a great Christmas break, it just wasn't long enough. I came home this past Saturday after taking my boss to the airport and finished wrapping gifts. Then I went to dinner with my friend Dexter, from high school which was fun to catch up and eat some good food. Then on Sunday I went down to Middletown to meet Kim, one of my close friends from BG and former roommate. My godmother/aunt was having a Christmas Eve "open house" so we went there to eat and hang out. It was so great to see Kim and catch up with her. I definitely need to go visit her in Atlanta before the summer canvass. Jenny and BJ came down on Christmas day for a big lunch and to open presents. I got luggage, cloths, Sierra Club calender, new MCT cd, the book Silent Spring by Rachel Carson, the book An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, brown boots, socks, and some other stuff. So needless to say it was a great Christmas. In the evening I headed over to Amy's grandparents for Christmas Round 2 and stuffed myself again and had a fabulous time. That family cracks me up and is so much fun to be around. It's also great that I can drink beer and wine when I'm with them. I headed back up to AA early Tuesday to canvass which was pointless because nobody was home. Still not sure what my plans are for New Year's; I kinda wanna see what AA is like at New Year's but we'll see...

Where's the snow?

Alright well it's almost X-mas time and I'm grateful that I have friends who understand my financial situation this year. They know that when I'm rich and famous for saving the world I'll make it up to them. At work we are doing a CD exchange on Friday. We are all creating a unique mix CD and then making enough for everybody and then on Friday we get everybody else's. Things are going a lot better at work regarding my average. Last week I got 2 sustainers, and this week I have already got a hi-con and a sustainer. So hopefully things stay this way.

I was home this past weekend for a doctors appointment, to re-take the GRE, and celebrate X-mas with the Kohl side at my parent's house. Doctor's appointment went fine, the GRE totally sucked, and the Kohl family X-mas was fun. I got exactly what I wanted and ate so much good food. I'll be going back to Ohio this Saturday for X-mas, but unfortunately I have to canvass on the 26th. So I'll probably just leave really early Tuesday morning to get back up here.

Well I hope everybody is having a great week!!

ugh

So tonight was not so hot, in both senses. I have about a 5-7 minute commute to work which is awesome. So I'm close to downtown and alot of other things. I live in a house with 3 other people; 2 girls, 1 guy. All of them strangers but really nice and laidback from what I gather. Hopefully we'll all get along. Massive thanks to Jared and Chris for helping me move. I heart them! I'll be going back home this weekend to get whatever else I need/couldn't fit in the van or Jared's car. This will certainly include a dresser from Jenny & BJ. My parents will be coming up with me that weekend, so I'll have to show them a good time in AA while they are here. I'll post pics once I have everything unpacked and organized.

Snow has finally arrived and I got to spend 5 hours outside in it tonight. We went to East Lansing to canvass. It was really cold, but I had 5 layers on so I kept pretty warm. I had mostly students which sucked because they usually give like $5-10 bucks; so I ended the night with $103.25. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I'll hit quota.

Hope everyone is staying warm!!

Blind Pig

Tonight I went to the Blind Pig in AA with some people from work to see the Brazilian Girls. One of the bartenders that works there, I actually canvassed a few weeks ago and gave me $50 and he totally remembered who I was. And I ran into Kelly, the girl who cuts my hair in BG. I made it home in 2 hours 15 minutes, very impressive since my car didn't fall apart when I was driving 80mph the whole way. Thanksgiving day I spent at Amy's grandparents which was wonderful. I ate so much food and had a great time hanging out with Amy and her family. On Friday my Mom and I left the house around 7:30am to head out shopping. What a crazy day! We attempted to shop at Best Buy but realized soon after we stepped in the store what a bad idea that was. So we headed to Kohl's which wasn't much better and waited in line for about 30mins to checkout. Then it was off to Fairfield Mall to do some shopping. It was of course crowded especially in stores that were having huge sales. I managed to convince my mom to get me a few things at the Gap. But alas no such luck in J.Crew, my absolute favorite store. I had a coupon at Bath and Body so we waited for about 10 mins in line there. We then headed to "The Green" which is a new mall that basically is a replica of Easton Mall in Columbus. Thankfully the weather was amazing so I enjoyed the outdoor shopping. I bought a few things for myself at Delia's. Mom bought me a new robe at Victoria's Secret and a green wool pencil skirt at Ann Taylor Loft. Then we headed to Target and couldn't resist buying things for the baby. This kid is ridiculously spoiled and it's not even born yet! That night I headed to Amy's to help celebrate her brother Dan's birthday and just hung out. Today I ran some errands in the morning and made brownies. Jenny and BJ are coming in a few hours for dinner. Tomorrow I'll head back to AA. I still haven't found a place to live and it's seriously annoying. I hate living out of suitcase and sleeping on a couch.

To back track slightly, I went to Boston last weekend for the Green Corps interview and had a great time. The city is beautiful! The metro system was interesting and crowded. The interview events were held in Cambridge. The interviews went really well and I met some really cool people. There were about 60-70 people there and I actually knew a few of them from other environmental events. Though, I found out this past Tuesday that I wasn't accepted into the program. So now it's full speed ahead in getting my grad school apps together. I'm not sure where else besides U of M I'm going to apply. But I definitely need to get a move on with that one since it's due Jan.5th.

I got my first loan repayment notice in the mail...ugh...it's highway robbery I tell you! I take the GRE on the 16th and I desperately need to get back to studying. I was doing pretty well till I got this job in AA and now it seems like I don't have time for anything. I just wish my life would get settled.

Whoa...

Ok, so lots of things have happened and are happening. So a brief update before I have to get ready for work. I went home last weekend to throw my sister a baby shower. It went really well and she got lots of cool things. But this kid will definitely have a duck complex. Thanks to Soha for hosting the shower at her awesome new house! Lots of planning and work went into it, but I feel that it totally paid off.

I'm back in AA working and crashing on my friend Jody's couch. It's starting to get a lot colder at night which is no fun. Last night it poured and it'll be the same tonight. So layers are a definite must. I'm still looking for a place but with not much luck.

Tonight Jared is coming up to visit me after work and then to take me to the Detroit airport tomorrow morning. I'm flying to Boston for the weekend for the 2nd round interview for Green Corps. I'm really excited and really nervous. I just hope I don't get lost or miss my flight. I'll be back Sunday afternoon.

Even though I won't be able to watch the big game this weekend, I'll definitely be rooting for OSU!!!

Life Comes At You Fast

Ok so it's 8:30am and I'm back in MI at my friends Amanda and Michael's place. I haven't found a place yet, but I have some potential places to check out this week. I'm up here for the week then heading back home this weekend for Jenny's baby shower. Work is going well, I'm happy to see that it won't be terribly cold this week. I had my first round interview with Green Corps on the 31st and then found out the next day that I'm invited to the second round interview in Boston on the 17th and 18th of this month. I have to pay for my transportation there, but they'll provide housing and carpool from the airport. I was just irritated when I told my rents about it because they were pissed that they weren't paying for the transportation so they don't think I should do it. I just feel like once again, money is going to be an issue for why they don't want me to do something. One of my friends suggested that perhaps my parents just don't want me to move away, but I know that it's definitely not that. My dad just wants to keep controlling my life because he's "the dad" and because he wasn't around when I was growing up to be a dad. But whatever, fuck that, I'm so sick and tired of my parents trying to control my life and make my decisions. What's more ironic is when my dad says, "You are an adult, and it's your decision, but..." which means you should really do what I tell you to do. And then he get's on my case about grad school and that I must go to grad school, that he doesn't want me to mess up my life by making stupid decisions, and he doesn't want me to loose sight of my goal to grad school. What I would really like is for him to just back off, I will go to grad school. I'm applying to U of M and OSU, but I'm also considering Green Corps. Also, what I would really like is just some support, but I guess that's just too much to ask.

Movin' On Up!!

I finally have a "real" job!! I'm looking for a place to live hopefully in AA. I'm not exactly sure when I'll be heading back to OH, hopefully sometime next week if I can get everything worked out. I'll post more about the job later, but I'm exhausted and must work on finding a place to live.

Sunday Comics

The Sunday Comics provided by the Dayton Daily News always has a section where the characters "Beakman and Jax" answer a science question asked by some kid and also provide a science experiment to illustrate the answer. This past Sunday the question posed by Natthaphol Boom from Bangkok, Thailand was "Where does gravity come from? What is the short answer?" They of course explained that gravity is the attraction between any 2 objects and that scientists are working on solving where gravity comes from. They go on by saying (and this is the kicker), "This week do a gravity experiment first done by Galileo in 1620. Galileo was a little like the singer Madonna. Both make do with just a first name and both seem to upset people with the stuff they think."

WTF?!?! What a horrible comparison! I have nothing against the material girl, I enjoy her music (preferably the old stuff), but surely these people could of thought of a more appropriate comparison for one the most famous scientist in history.

Blah....

I am sick yet again...but this time I have a cold instead of a sinus infection; at least I think so. I ended up going home early from work on Thursday but made it through work today just because I didn't want to deal with my Dad bitching at me for being sick. So needless to say I don't have much going on this weekend. I hope everybody is having a better weekend than I am!

BG/ Cleveland/ Ann Arbor

So I had a nice little vacation recently...

Last Friday I headed up to BG. It was great to just hang out and relax with Jared. We didn't do much which was totally fine with me. We ordered pizza and watched some TV with his roommate Chris and eventually headed out to Downtown to meet up with my friend Bridget. The bar was surprisingly pretty busy considering it was Fall Break weekend.

Saturday I headed to Cleveland for a wedding. My boss Mary from the chemistry stockroom was getting married and it was a great time. I was working at the stockroom when her and her now husband, Chris, first met and started dating. I went with Megan and Jason who I worked with at the stockroom and we always have fun when we all hang out together. I think we had a bit too much fun at the reception because there was a lot of waiting and we got bored so we amused ourselves with the camera that was on our table. Enough said. I headed back to BG that night and convinced Chris and Jared to come out to Downtown for drink.

On Sunday the road trip to Ann Arbor was under way! Jared, Chris, and I headed there to stay with my friend Jody (a grad student at U of M) to check out the U of M campus and the wonderful city of Ann Arbor. My friend Bridget also met up with us later on Sunday. I had a meeting on Monday with the recruitment director for the graduate program to which I'm applying to, School of Natural Resources and Environment. It went really well and I'm really excited about the prospects of going to U of M for my Master's degree. I decided to retake the GRE in December because if I get a better score I'll have a better chance of getting an assistantship or fellowship which I will definitely need in order to pay for school. I fell in love with the city! There is just so much to do and so much to see. The campus is gorgeous! I spent so much money there on shopping, food, and beer. I am going to have to put in some major overtime at work but it was totally worth it!

I came back to Piqua on Tuesday and I'm wishing I was still in Ann Arbor. I will actually be going back up there on the 23rd for a job interview with Environment Michigan working on their energy campaign. And I also wish that I wasn't sick but yet again I'm sick and it's annoying.

So I've been thinking more about grad school since after Christmas I will have to start the application process all over again. I know I'm applying to U of M and Ohio State. I'm still considering to applying to UC Berkeley as my "dream" school because there is a professor who is studying endocrinology of amphibians that I would love to work under. I'm still searching for possibly 2 more schools outside of Ohio to apply to.

Here are some pictures from my mini vacation:

Jody and I at dinner; bd's Mongolian barbecue

Jared and I at one of the Irish pubs

Chris, me, and Jared visiting Jody at her lab...Safety first!!

Oh and here's an article from the BG News that my left-handed boyfriend is in!

Somebody Shit on the Coats...

To address the title, I bought Dane Cook's latest cd/dvd "Retaliation" this past weekend and it is hilarious, of course! He is amazing!!

So I had a really good weekend. I try to fill my weekends with lots of things to do so I don't have to be home or in Piqua for most of the time. On Friday I really didn't do a whole lot because I was so tired. Just ran and relaxed and went to bed early. On Saturday I woke up early to run and go to the bank and then headed to Urbana to hang out with Amy. It was great to just sit and talk with her and catch-up on each other's lives. We don't get to talk on the phone that often so I enjoy these kind of days. We had lunch and then just lazed around her place, made brownies, and watched TV. Then we went and looked at her classrooms, rented a movie, and got some beer. We watched "V for Vendetta" and drank Amber Bock. A great end to the day.

On Sunday I went down to Dayton and went to the Dayton Art Institute's Oktoberfest with Jenny. It was awesome. The best part was all the different International beer they had. I only had 3 beers but was slightly drunk by the time we left. Since I'm extremely picky, I settled for a homemade pizza that was delicious. There were 4 tents that had different arts and crafts. I saw so many things I wanted to buy but it was all very expensive. Though I did get a painting that I was able to bargain with the guy for. It was originally $88 but he have it to me for half. He was really cool and my sister and I talked to him for about 20 minutes about his artwork. He uses recycled materials which is really cool. Here's a pic of what I bought:

I totally love it!! All of his stuff was really cool and interesting!

I thought I'd add a picture of my cat Patches because she's so freaking adorable and I forgot I had taken this:

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Eh...

So nothing really exciting to update in my life. This week has gone by quickly (thankfully) despite long days. Last night I went with the rents to watch the Sinclair vs. Edison volleyball game at Sinclair. I am so glad we do not take family vacations anymore. Trying to get there was a huge pain in the ass especially since my dad was driving my mom's car. Luckily we all got there in one piece after much yelling and screaming. I ran into AJ on the way to the gym which was totally random but very cool since we haven't hung out in a while. He sat with me at the game till he had to go to class so we were able to catch each other up on the happenings in our lives. Unfortunately, Sinclair lost but Sarah (#6) played really well and I was happy I got to see her play. Last night's game also confirmed my decision to not ref this coming season. The parents there were totally assholes to the refs; which I knew and have worked with before. Parents should really learn the rules of the game before they start giving the refs shit.

I am looking forward to sleeping a lot this weekend. I haven't been sleeping very well lately. I'm having a hard time falling asleep and then I keep having bizarre random nightmares that wake me up. And when I wake up I'm always burning up even though my room is usually pretty cold at night. I'm not really sure what's going on with this.

I am currently obsessed with the song "Hoppipolla" by Sigur Ros

BG yet again

I went up to BG this past weekend again. I just can't get enough of it...even though it's a bit weird visiting having graduated and all. But needless to say it was a great weekend. On Friday Jared and I went to Carrabba's for dinner and it was delicious. Then headed to a party to meet up with some friends. I played a pretty good game of flip cup until the table collapsed so it was off to the bars. I ran into alot of people I knew and that I hadn't seen a while so that was cool. On Saturday and I was a bum during the day and then went to El Zarappes with Jared and Chris for dinner. We headed to Misha's party which ended up being a good time. Jody surprised me by showing up which was awesome! Then it was off to Downtown and met up with Bridget and some of her friends. We ended the night at Nate and Wally's which is starting to charge cover and that is just stupid. As a side note; I think that Chris is the funniest man I know and he was definitely bringing sexy back this weekend! I was up early on Sunday because I had to drive to Dayton to meet my family and grandparents for an early dinner to celebrate my Grandpa's 83rd birthday. Here's a pic of BJ, my sister and her little belly, and my Grandparents:

Here's one of the fam plus my neice or nephew:

I have an interview at World Market tomorrow in Columbus. It kinda makes me laugh...and I'm sure when they tell me how much the pay is I will definitely laugh. But you never know...

Bringin sexy back...

Weekend Recap

I had a pretty good weekend despite the fact that I was sick (and still recovering from a sinus infection). I didn't go into work on Friday because I felt like complete crap and had no desire to get out of bed. So I basically slept and popped Tylenol Sinus/Allergy medicine all day. My Dad and I watched X-Men 1.5 and gorged ourselves on Chocolate Chip cookies. Saturday I was up early to run off the calories from the cookies and then headed to the wonderful city of Columbus to meet my friend Mark. The purpose of my journey was to apartment hunt/job hunt/get out of Piqua for the day. Mark took me to a couple places around Polaris Mall all of which were really nice and affordable. We ate at Martinis and it was a-mazing! Thanks Mark for lunch! I put in an application at the World Market that was in the shopping complex since they were hiring. Who knows... Then Mark took me around some of the subdivisions of the rich people and their humungous homes. Next we headed to Zak's to hang out and enjoy his big screen plasma tv and HDTV. I also was in Columbus that day to see The Early November at the Newport but as Mark and I drove by heading to the show we found out it was cancelled. I was totally bummed out! So we just headed back to Zak's and then went to a local bar to meet some other people. I had a great time hanging out with Mark and just being in Columbus.

On Sunday I woke up late (10am) and ran and then just laid around and read. I eventually was productive by going in town to run some errands and then had to drop my car off to get repainted in some spots that were being taken over by rust. I had rented X-Men 2 so Dad and I watched that. It was pretty good. The 3rd one comes out October 3rd on DVD so that's exciting.

Monday was decent. Work sucked as usual. Came home and ran and Jenny was joining us for dinner that night. She had another doctor's appointment to have a second ultrasound. Still to early to determine the sex. Though she had lots of ultrasound pictures to show us. There were 2 really good ones where you can see a tiny hand, like the baby is waving. Another one shows the spine and another shows the skull including the eye sockets and upper mouth. They are really cool but also kinda creepy because the baby looks like an alien right now. If you go to my sister's blog: http://jenkohlhanley.blogspot.com/ she has some of the ultrasound pictures posted. I can't wait for more pics of my niece/nephew!!

Today I took a half day at work so I could go to Dayton to a job fair at the Nutter Center. I really didn't want to go but I decided to make the rents happy and went. It was pretty pointless. There was a total of 5 booths that were set up for the Diversity/Professional area. And I only talked to 1 booth because the others were for positions I have no interest or I don't have the qualifications. So I talked to the people at SAIC: From Science to Solutions because it had "science" in the name. Turns out they have an Environmental division. I gave them a copy of my resume and they said to go online to post it as well. I did some searching and there was actually some jobs I'm going to apply for because they were entry level.

Well I hope everybody is having a great week!

Unfalconbelieveable!

Ok so my weekend in BG was great as it usually is when I visit my alma mater. I stayed at Bridget's sweet ass apartment above Beckett's on Main St.

On Friday evening Bridget, Steve (one of Bridget's roommates), Kelly, and I went to dinner at the Italian restaurant on Main where Bridget and Kelly work. It was delicious of course. Then I met up with Krystle, Chris, and Jared at the Black Swamp Festival to watch Reverend Horton Heat. They were pretty good but their songs were a bit repetitive. So we decided to head to Downtown for some beverages. Good times were had by all...

On Saturday Jared, Steve, and I walked around the festival where I wanted everything I saw. We enjoyed a funnel cake. Then we just hung out and watched some football. Jared and I went back to his place where Chris made us some amazing dinner. That night Chris, Ben, Jared, and I went to some bars and it was seriously so much fun. The three of them constantly crack me up. I almost thought there was going to be fight between Ben and this douche bag at Brathaus. Ben was making fun of him (but not to his face and rightly so) and the kid saw and yelled "Fuck you!" at our direction. We just proceeded to laugh. We ventured to Nate and Wally's to meet Bridget. And again there were good times had by all...

On Sunday Amanda (my dopple) came down to BG and had lunch with Bridget and I at Panera. I walked around the festival with them and ending up getting this really cool necklace that was kinda pricey. Then went back to Jared's to pick up my car since I had parked it there all weekend due to lack of parking near Bridget's because of the festival. So for those of you who I haven't talked to already or haven't been stalking me on Facebook my relationship status has changed. I'm really happy that Jared and I decided to be together...and I'm excited/anxious to see what happens...and even though it's going to be hard being in two different locations the fact that we are really good friends first of all I'm hoping will make things easier.

Alright well this is entirely to long...I'll have to start updating on a more regular basis...

Sorry everybody for not updating this on a more regular basis...

On September 3rd I went to a wedding in Cincinnati with my friend AJ. My friends Dave and Sarah were getting married. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. The wedding was at Moonlight Gardens which is part of Coney Island so it was an outdoor wedding. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the music was great, and AJ and I has a fabulous time!

No news on the job front...still looking for any job any where...I'm getting desperate...

I went to BG this past weekend to visit friends and go to the Black Swamp Festival. Still no job prospects.

On Friday I went to our local Hallmark to get a wedding card and I was browsing the Shoebox cards and I came across this one card and on the cover was a tv displaying a news anchor and his text bubble said "Our top story tonight...Everything everywhere sucks. More after this." I started cracking up right in the store and there were people right next to me probably thinking I was crazy. I just couldn't help it...the card is so perfect for my life right now that I bought it with no intention of sending it to anyone. I just want it to make me laugh during those rough times.

So BG starts classes tomorrow...it's so weird not being back there and not having the stress of classes and such. I almost miss it. I guess that's only because I'm still in Piqua. Then I start to think where I almost would be if money hadn't gotten in the way. It's crazy that a thing like money can make or break one's plans. I would have never of guessed that I'd still be in Piqua and at a factory at the end of August. This isn't why I went to college...I have a freakin degree and I can't find a damn job...anywhere. So I have kinda re-worked my game plan. We'll see if it works out. I'm giving myself till the end of September.

I am going to another wedding on September 3rd in Cincinnati. My friend Dave from school is getting married. He just graduated 2 weeks ago. I don't think I'll ever understand why people get married right after college. But then again, maybe if I was in a really serious relationship and I knew that person was "the one" then I'd consider getting married that young. I dunno, there are just to many things I want to see and do before I settle down. However, I'm excited about the wedding. AJ is going to be my date so it should be alot of fun!

I found out yesterday that I didn't get that job in Dublin. I've only had one job interview since I graduated and I didn't get the job. Why is it so damn hard to find a job?!? I am getting desperate...I need to move out of Piqua and quit the factory. On Tuesday Jenny and I went and saw "An Inconvenient Truth" I was impressed with it; I already knew most of the science but for sometime who was uninformed about the issue of Global Warming this movie explained everything correctly and accurately. I was surprised with the turnout, especially of the people over 50. On Thursday I headed up to BG in the evening to crash at my friend Bridget's because I was going to meet someone in Huron Friday morning to go to Warped Tour. We went out to the bars and there was more people out than I thought would be since the summer session is over. Warped Tour was definitely a good time. The weather was great and I remembered to wear sunscreen. I finally got to see NOFX and they were hilarious. Fat Mike is so offensive, it's funny. I also got to see Saves the Day, HelloGoodbye, Armor for Sleep, Less Than Jake, Thursday, Senses Fail, The Academy Is, Against Me, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Early November. The most random thing is that I ran into Nate in the crowd waiting for TEN. Totally weird!! So it was a good time overall, except I didn't get back to Piqua till 12:45 and got up at 5:45 to go to work. Tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out with Aj and Dexter and to sleeping in tomorrow morning.

Ok, so this is my new blog...hello everyone!

I decided that I should move on to something else. Xanga has been my outlet through college. It documents my ups and downs and whatnot at BG. So this new blog will document my life after college...

So far I am still working at the factory and can't find a job in my field and it's really frustrating. And I am still living at home which is just amazing *insert sarcasm* I'm hoping to be out by the end of August, but we'll see. I still haven't heard back from the Dublin job so the job hunt continues. I applied for a job at World Wildlife Federation and Friends of the Earth today. Thank god for the internet.

Well, it's bed time...
