Weekend Recap
I had a pretty good weekend despite the fact that I was sick (and still recovering from a sinus infection). I didn't go into work on Friday because I felt like complete crap and had no desire to get out of bed. So I basically slept and popped Tylenol Sinus/Allergy medicine all day. My Dad and I watched X-Men 1.5 and gorged ourselves on Chocolate Chip cookies. Saturday I was up early to run off the calories from the cookies and then headed to the wonderful city of Columbus to meet my friend Mark. The purpose of my journey was to apartment hunt/job hunt/get out of Piqua for the day. Mark took me to a couple places around Polaris Mall all of which were really nice and affordable. We ate at Martinis and it was a-mazing! Thanks Mark for lunch! I put in an application at the World Market that was in the shopping complex since they were hiring. Who knows... Then Mark took me around some of the subdivisions of the rich people and their humungous homes. Next we headed to Zak's to hang out and enjoy his big screen plasma tv and HDTV. I also was in Columbus that day to see The Early November at the Newport but as Mark and I drove by heading to the show we found out it was cancelled. I was totally bummed out! So we just headed back to Zak's and then went to a local bar to meet some other people. I had a great time hanging out with Mark and just being in Columbus.
On Sunday I woke up late (10am) and ran and then just laid around and read. I eventually was productive by going in town to run some errands and then had to drop my car off to get repainted in some spots that were being taken over by rust. I had rented X-Men 2 so Dad and I watched that. It was pretty good. The 3rd one comes out October 3rd on DVD so that's exciting.
Monday was decent. Work sucked as usual. Came home and ran and Jenny was joining us for dinner that night. She had another doctor's appointment to have a second ultrasound. Still to early to determine the sex. Though she had lots of ultrasound pictures to show us. There were 2 really good ones where you can see a tiny hand, like the baby is waving. Another one shows the spine and another shows the skull including the eye sockets and upper mouth. They are really cool but also kinda creepy because the baby looks like an alien right now. If you go to my sister's blog: http://jenkohlhanley.blogspot.com/ she has some of the ultrasound pictures posted. I can't wait for more pics of my niece/nephew!!
Today I took a half day at work so I could go to Dayton to a job fair at the Nutter Center. I really didn't want to go but I decided to make the rents happy and went. It was pretty pointless. There was a total of 5 booths that were set up for the Diversity/Professional area. And I only talked to 1 booth because the others were for positions I have no interest or I don't have the qualifications. So I talked to the people at SAIC: From Science to Solutions because it had "science" in the name. Turns out they have an Environmental division. I gave them a copy of my resume and they said to go online to post it as well. I did some searching and there was actually some jobs I'm going to apply for because they were entry level.
Well I hope everybody is having a great week!

We have some SAIC people that work here in our department. They used to work for us, but then there jobs were outsourced to SAIC. Lucky for them SAIC hired them on and didn't let them go after a year like we expected. Other than that, everything else they do takes a long time.
